Core Return Program

Recycle your old engine and get your deposit back. Our core return program is simple, straightforward, and essential for keeping costs down and promoting sustainability.

What is an Engine Core?

The engine core is the old, used engine assembly that you are replacing. When you purchase a remanufactured engine from US Engine Production Inc., you pay a temporary deposit for this core. By returning your old engine, you not only get this deposit back but also participate in a vital recycling program that is the backbone of the remanufacturing industry.

Cores are the raw materials for our products. Returning them allows us to remanufacture high-quality diesel engines, reduce waste, save energy, and pass those savings directly on to you.

Our 4-Step Core Return Process

1. Prepare Your Core

Drain all fluids (oil, coolant) and place the core back into the original shipping container your new engine arrived in.

2. Attach Bill of Lading

Securely attach the provided return Bill of Lading (BOL) to the crate. If you've lost it, call us at (631) 991-7700.

3. Schedule Pickup

Contact the freight carrier listed on the BOL to schedule a pickup from your commercial address.

4. Get Your Refund

Once we receive and inspect the core, we'll refund your deposit within 7-10 business days.

Core Condition Requirements

To receive a full core deposit refund, the returned core must be in acceptable condition. Here’s a general guide:

  • Must be the same model as the engine purchased.
  • Must be fully assembled.
  • No visible cracks or holes in the block or head.
  • No major external damage from accidents or improper removal.
  • Crankshaft must be able to rotate 360 degrees.
  • Disassembled or severely damaged cores may result in a partial or no refund.
