About Isuzu Engines
Isuzu Motors has been a global leader in diesel engine technology since the 1930s. Their commercial truck engines, particularly the 4H and 6H series, power millions of delivery trucks, box trucks, and utility vehicles worldwide. Isuzu also supplied diesel engines to GM for the Duramax program, demonstrating their engineering excellence.
Isuzu's diesel expertise extends beyond their own trucks. Their partnership with GM produced the Duramax 6.6L diesel, one of the most successful truck engines in history. Isuzu's own commercial truck engines are the backbone of the medium-duty delivery fleet worldwide.
Isuzu Engine Buying Guide
When purchasing a remanufactured Isuzu engine, the engine model number (stamped on the block) is essential. Isuzu uses a systematic naming system: the first digit is cylinder count, the letters indicate the engine family, and the suffix indicates turbocharging (T = turbo, TC = turbocharged and intercooled).
